Promoting bands, musicians & the music scene in Leicestershire

Komatone Back to artists page

Komatone are a young, high tempo, upbeat 5 piece rock and roll outfit with influences that span 4 decades of music. The howling vocals of Simon work in perfect acquiescence with ultra tight rhythm and lead sections that consist of Manc Rob on guitar, grandiose and enigmatic bass playing of Magic Dan, the thunderous drumming of Daryl and the screaming lead guitar of Mark.

The band were formed in Leicester at the start of 2004 with the current line minus Magic Dan on bass and Daryl on drums. That line up had limited success over time and after two members left it was a twist of fate that brought together magic Dan and Daryl to step in on rhythm duties. Magic and Daryl are trained musicians with a lot of experience between them, Magic's previous band 'Shine' were signed to Matchbox records and Daryl's previous band had a lot of success gigging around the midlands. With the new line up in place there was no stopping the songwriting machine that Komatone have become. Since January 2005 the band have written their first album and plan to record it over the next three months at DeMontfort's high tech courtyard studio under the production skills of Magic Dan and will be engineered by Danny Greet, a former employee of SAE in London. The band has been relentlessly gigging over the last four months up and down the country with more gigs booked in around London for the summer months when the album is finished.
