"Like all of us The Rockitts need to get away from it all & relax. They love their fans, of course, but constant touring & several concerts a year leaves them quite exhausted & in need of a break. And the best place for a break is home.
Home for The Rockitts is a fantastic 'Electric Fortress' in Santa Monica. The $1000,000 house, known to neighbours as 'Fort Knox' is impossible to enter without invitation. A closed-circuit TV system monitors people at the gate which opens & closes electronically. Not only that, there's Lobo, their fierce German sheepdog who'll eat anything---Not as yet any fans!--- who may stray over the fence"

Of course very little of that is strictly true...But The Rockitts have high hopes. They want the charts to be the domain of real bands again. They feel it their duty to make teenagers fall in love with guitars once more. The mainstream has been ruled by Boy Bands, Hip Hop & stylized 'Rock' bands for too long...something has to change and The Rockitts aim to help change it. The Rockitts however have no desire to be part of any 'New Rock Revolution'. You won't catch them with a phoney 'garage rock' image or recently purchased MC5 record under their arm.

Indie kids in Rockers clothes hold no appeal to them.

With The Rockitts what you see & hear is what you get...poseurs & hipsters can look elsewhere...& no doubt they will?

Formed in early 2002 after a previous incarnation of the band went their separate ways. The line up features Joe (Lead Vocals & Guitar), Matt (Lead Guitar & Vocals), Adam (Bass), Ben (drums) & Mark (keyboards). These like minded fellas share a vision. A vision & a plan to bring timeless songs back to the masses.

Whereas most of today's guitar bands seemingly take their cue from whatever the NME deems acceptable for that particular week, The Rockitts draw on a huge range of influences without sounding like a throw back to the past & fuse them together into a potent Rock'n'Roll cocktail. An explosion of Transatlantic Rock & UK chart blitzing Pop! CHEAP TRICK, MOTT THE HOOPLE, KISS, SLADE, THE ALICE COOPER BAND, QUEEN, TOM PETTY, THIN LIZZY, HANOI ROCKS (to name but a few)...add a dash of THE CLASH, a dose of RAMONES,...then the melodies with of COSTELLO...mix in SPRINGSTEENS imagery & love of a story...throw in a contemporary spin with D.GENERATION, & THE HELLACOPTERS , add a twist of NEW YORK DOLLS, & top it off with the romance & charm of 60's GIRL GROUPS & 50'S ROCK'N'ROLL. Somewhere in the middle of all or that you'll find The Rockitts.
