The band was originally formed back in the summer of '04
when J Wo (John Wortley) and Lewis (Scott Lewis) realised
that they could both play guitar together. Mark Smith was
the original bassist but was soon replaced by Dave Archer,
whose playing style blended in better. Our first drummer
was Patrick King but when he left to pursue other projects
in May '05 he was replaced by current drummer Tony Hughes.
We have spent the last year getting a solid core of songs
together, overcoming life-threatening illnesses and making
a name for ourselves in sunny Leicester. Next two things
on the horizon are a studio based demo / album and getting
on the road with the Tea Monkey Massive - hopefully coming
to a venue near you!!
Hope you enjoy our stuff - please feel free to comment /
suggest etc. etc. Peace all and lots of good lovin'!
"The fabulous Tea Monkeys were last on. It was the
first time that i'd seen the whole band live, and it was
all good You all know them better than i do, so there's
probably not much i can say that you don't already know.
What i can say, though, is that they brought lots of summery
goodness into the pub. I left with a smile on my face and
a spring in my step ... " A review from Rai, fellow
musician and a member of the audience at our gig in The
Sun May 2006
