The D-E-A is a Leicester based Dhol Team (Bhangra drum ensemble). The band grew out of a project started by Indi Singh Soor back in 1996 when he was teaching a Dhol, Dholak, and Tumbi class at the West End Neighbourhood Centre in Leicester.

Their performance consists of a routine of traditional Bhangra beats accompanied by special effect samples that are triggered throughout the routine. The samples can be anything from vocal shouts to emphasise particular beats and exciting sound effects that keep the crowd on its toes! The fast strong paced beats will certainly get heads turning and nodding.

The D-E-A now has a flexible membership of between 2 to 10 dhol players. Their performance varies depending on what type of performance they are asked to do. Performances can be anything from escorting a bride and groom into the reception party to an explosive stage performance with smoke effects and lighting if required.

Additional accompaniments with D-E-A are a
Bhangra vocalist who sings a medley of famous Bhangra songs or a
Tumbi (one stringed banjo) / algoza player (double flutes).
